Feel like the politicians have forgotten about you?
Feel like Washington is missing some basic common sense?
Ready for some solutions to our nation’s most pressing problems?
We are too.
Luckily Shane Massey has been pushing common sense conservative measures in the State Senate like ‘on the record voting’ and earmark reform, making it much harder for the politicians to spend our tax dollars on wasteful projects.
Now Shane wants to take that same basic common sense to Washington. That’s why he’s backing Senator Jim DeMint’s plan to audit the Federal Reserve.
Please take the time to watch this quick two-minute Shake Up TV clip from Shane. If you agree with his stance to crack down on wasteful spending both in Columbia and Washington, please take the time to join our team by clicking here.
America has changed, but our values haven’t. Let’s work together to shake up Congress with some small town common sense.
Sincerely,
Shane’s Shake Up Team
Dear Friends-
Our first common sense chat was held in Easley on Tuesday night, and it went great! There was a good turn out and people are angry at the direction our nation is going, but they are full of common sense ways to change Washington.
I am excited about these “Common Sense Chats” and I want to continue to talk with you about the issues impacting South Carolina families. So, if Easley was too far for you to travel- I have already made plans for my next “Common Sense Chat.”
This one will be held in Aiken on Thursday, July 30th from 6:00 - 8: 00 pm at the O’dell Weeks Center. Please come out next Thursday and chat with me about the big issues facing our State and America. Remember to stay tuned to shane2010.com for announcements on upcoming “Common Sense Chats” and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
Shane
WHAT: Shane Massey’s 2nd Common Sense Chat
WHERE: O’dell Weeks Center, Aiken, SC
WHEN: Thursday, July 30th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
South Carolina Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom and other state and local officials praised Aiken’s recent efforts in government transparency today and encouraged more cities to do the same.
“This is one step in many,” said Mr. Eckstrom before a crowd along The Alley in downtown Aiken. “…And I’m so proud the city of Aiken has taken a leadership role in restoring trust in government.”
Recently, Aiken has posted on a Web site – www.cityofaikensc.gov/financialtransparency – financial statements, including check registers that show residents how city money is being spent. Last year, Mr. Eckstrom had state spending information posted online and then launched a campaign to persuade local governments to post their expenditures on the Internet.
Aiken is among eight cities to have pushed through such an initiative. Mr. Eckstrom said he hopes more cities will realize it can be done and will follow the examples set by these eight.
Officials with the South Carolina Policy Council as well as several state legislators were in Aiken to support the campaign.
“This is a big step,” said state Sen. Shane Massey, a Republican who represents the 25th District, including Aiken. Continue Reading…

Dear Friends –
How can we create more jobs and grow South Carolina’s economy?
What is excessive spending and unprecedented government growth doing to our nation?
Should Congress pass President Obama’s plan to nationalize health care or a conservative solution based on free market principles?
How can we do more to empower teachers, employers, and workers?
Should we scrap the federal tax code and start over?
Is offshore drilling part of the answer to our energy problems?
These are just a few of the questions I’m hearing as I tour the district. The career politicians in Washington don’t have all the answers; they just think they do. That arrogance and disdain for public input is how we’ve ended up in the position we’re in. Continue Reading…
