Securing Freedom

Over the past few years, there’s been a lot of talk about “change.” Most of us agree, change is something this country desperately needs. And we’ve had a good bit of change in just the past 12 months, but the change we’re seeing now is not the change we need. The truth is, real change has to begin with us. And by us, I mean Republicans.

Issues

Over the next few months I will be laying out a series of videos, podcasts, and issue papers to tell you how we can shake up Congress. In the meantime, let me tell you what I believe.

I believe that too many politicians are taking the easy way out and throwing money at problems instead of doing the hard work it takes to find creative, conservative solutions.

I believe we can shake up Congress with something obviously missing from Washington…some small town common sense.

I believe that most conservatives are angry at the way Washington is putting our children and grandchildren more in debt to foreign nations like China.

I believe it’s nearly impossible at times to tell the difference between Republicans and Democrats in Washington.

I believe that big government liberal policies are NOT the “Change We Need.”

I believe we have to do more than just ‘Hope’ our way out of this economic crisis that is crushing the backs of American families.

I believe our nation moves forward when we empower people, not government.

I believe we have to rein in government spending and end the influence of lobbyists and special interests that are exploding our budgets.

I believe we have to hold politicians accountable for their pet spending projects and make Republicans start acting like Republicans again.

I believe we have to renew the Bush tax cuts, lower capital gains taxes, income taxes, and corporate taxes as a means of spurring investment and job creation.

I believe we have to kill the death tax and eliminate the marriage tax penalty.

I believe we have to completely overhaul and simplify the federal tax code.

I believe we have to use our technological advancements to drill offshore and in the ANWR as a means of reducing our dependence on foreign oil.

I believe it’s time to stop the corporate welfare programs for failed businesses.

I believe Washington liberals are pushing our nation toward a European form of Socialism.

I believe it’s time to stop saying “someone should do something about this” and start saying “I’m going to do something about this.”

These are the reasons I have decided to run for the United States Congress. Click here to join me.
